Monarch Colorado Current Weather (Snow & Ski) Conditions - Mountain Stats

Monarch ski area is located 157 miles southwest of the Denver area, due west of Colorado Springs (120 miles). Located on top of the Continental Divide Monarch enjoys a high altitude and more than enough snow to satisfy intermediate and advanced skiers (which the resort caters to).

Monarch is frequented by those living near the Colorado Springs area on weekends and is a great “day trip” ski resort. Those working at the mountain are friendly and are always wearing a smile. The food at the resort is a bit better than most ski areas which is nice on a cold snowy day (which happens often due to the location).

Ski passes are fairly cheap – adult can enjoy “early season” skiing until mid December and ski an entire day for $27 (about as cheap as it gets in Colorado for an adult day pass). Regular season adults pay $49 bucks, which is still a fairly good deal. Monarch also offers Ski Cat Tours for around $250 a day, your almost guaranteed great powder, and the views are incredible. The snow cat tours access more than 900 acres of expert terrain in the form of bowls, chutes and tree skiing. The ski cat tours usually start up around January.

Monarch averages more than 350 inches of snow a year and offers skiers an 1100 foot vertical drop.
