Recent Snow In Santa Fe Sparks Hope For Operators

Last year New Mexico ski resort operators had one of the worst ski seasons in recent history, however recent snows over the Santa Fe area has locals hoping for a better season this year. Ski New Mexico (trade organization) counted just over 400,000 skier day visits to New Mexico various ski resorts which include Ski Santa Fe and Taos to name a few. Daily skier counts usually hit over 800,000, with such a drastic drop in skier revenue lift operators and ski shops had a real tough time.

Ski Santa Fe for example usually welcome over 150,000 skier days while last year they could not even muster up a third of that. This year if your after a unique ski vacation Ski Santa Fe might interest you, located about 15 miles from Santa Fe (the historic town area) Ski Santa Fe has a base elevation of over 10,000 feet and their new triple chair lift takes skiers to heights of over 12,000. The views are incredible from atop the mountain, the Ski Santa Fe boasts lots of sunshine.

I have vacationed myself in Santa Fe and can attest it is wonderfully  rich in history, it’s like no other town in America. Lift tickets are somewhat cheaper at this resort coming in at $51.
