The 2006 - 2007 Ski Season Is Underway!

Welcome ski fans, well ski resorts blog is dusting off for another fabulous season of skiing and already two Colorado resorts have opened their doors to ski fans. A basin and Loveland are open, so get out the skis, check your boots and make sure that winter jacket can make it one more year because the ski season is now underway!

Over the last several years both resorts (A-Basin & Loveland) have had a fun little rivalry in trying to be the first ski resort to open in Colorado. Loveland has won for the last several years however this year A-Basin won out as they opened up one run with an 18 inch snow base. However Loveland was right behind Araphahoe Basin and also opened Loveland on Saturday. While rivalry is good for business for these two resorts it’s really the skiers who win out.

Both of these Colorado resorts boats high vertical ski bases which allows them to get a jump on the competition, A-Basin is nearly 3,000 vertical feet above the mountain bases of both Copper Mountain and Vail.
