Silverton Colorado Current (Snow & Ski) Conditions - Mountain Stats

Skiing Silverton in Colorado is like take a blast from the past, many have compared it to “heli skiing” with a chair lift. A mountain ski area that caters to advanced skiers looking for extreme terrain, if your not able to ski black diamond runs at other ski resorts Silverton is not for you.

However if your always trying to find un-tracked runs, spend more time in “bowls and chutes” than on typical ski “runs” you will probably love Silverton ski area which was ranked “Top Extreme Ski Experience” by Rocky Mountain News.



Silverton has several ski seasons in one year, Guided skiing runs from the end of January to April 1, during this time a day pass cost $119. Each morning groups of eight are formed up with one guide per group of eight. If you have not had a chance to ski Silverton then a guided day is great for learning about some of the man hidden gems that Silverton has to offer.


PRICES 2006-07:



  • No reservations are needed for unguided skiing, but tickets can be pre-purchased by calling.

  • Unguided Skiing- $49 per day, $39 Discount with G-Card (see News for info).  Guides available for only $99 all day includes lift ticket, or by the run for $35+lift ticket.

  • Guided Only Skiing- Jan $119, Feb & March $129.   Guided groups are formed at the start of each day of skiing.  There is no need to inform us of the people you wish to ski with until you arrive.

  • Private Guide Service also available- 1 person $425, 2 people $550, $240 for each additional person includes gourmet lunch & beer/wine

The ski base is at 10,400 feet with peak lift service to 12,300 (1,900 vertical drop), those into hiking can easily hike to over 14,400 ft for more than 3,000 ft of skiing in fluffy deep Colorado powder (which is what Silverton is really all about).
