Silverton Continues To Get Heaps Of Fresh Snow

Silverton is a favorite of those looking for true extreme skiing, many people refer to the resort as more of a “ski hut” or “heli-skiing” with one chair. The 2006 – 2007 ski season has gotten off to a great start at Silverton already the resort has received more than 50 inches of fresh snow with several big storms dumping on the Mountain.

Just last Tuesday Silverton received more than a foot of fresh powder and those that work the mountain have been skiing since September! Currently the mountain is set to open just prior to Thanksgiving, however if the snow continues at this rate look for an earlier opening date!

I have never skied Silverton before, the resort really have carved out a niche for itself by appealing to more advanced skiers and offers some truly hair raising terrain. Silverton needs to get listed on my “must ski” some time list
