Vail Colorado Ski Resort Facts & Figures

I have skied Vail many times, while many “hardcore” skiers in the Colorado area might snub their nose at Vail for it’s high prices and (at times) crowded runs it is really a great resort and offers the most terrain the in Colorado area.

The Vail mountain now offers more than 5,000 acres of fantastic ski able terrain. Each year the resort seam to add on additional runs or opens new back country skiing such as the recently opened Blue Sky Basin which offers great “glade” skiing or boarding with wide open runs that are often left ungroomed (read awesome after a December dumping of fresh snow).

While the skiing at Vail can’t be beat what also makes this such a wonderful resort is the village at the base of the mountain. The Vail village offers incredible dinning and night life, great shops and lots of mountain side hotels and lodges. While Vail is more expensive the old saying “you get what you pay for” is really true:

  • One Of the Larges Ski Areas In North America
  • Over 3400 Verticle Feet
  • Plenty Of Trails: 32% Easy 36% Intermediate 32% Advanced
  • Gondola & 14 High Speed Quad Chairs
  • Lift Capacity To Handle Over 50,000 Skiers and Boarders Per Hour
  • Plenty Of Terrain - Pipes & Parks For Snowboarders
  • Lots Of Ski Programs On The Mountain (First Time Skiers, Lessons, Ect)
  • Vail is the complete package, it’s got the mountain and the “resort” to back it up, highly recommended.
