Steamboat Springs Ski Mountain Webcam

Steamboat ski resort is another “ski destination” and not really a day-trip ski area. Located about 150 miles west of Denver it takes three hours to reach Steamboat Springs by car. A true slice of the west Steamboat remain true to it’s cowboy roots – you will find as many skiers on the hill sporting cowboy hats as “winter caps”.
Steamboat is Colorado’s third largest ski resort and offers an impressive 3600 vertical foot drop. A great mountain to learn on Steamboat offers lots of green and blue runs with easy access to these ares from the Gondola which takes skiers up more than 2,000 vertical feet in a matter of minutes.
It’s not however all about the easy runs, steamboat is known for it’s “champagne powder” a term the resort claims was started at Steamboat. The resort also claims that the snow “contains 70% less moisture” than other snow in Colorado. Having skied Steamboat I can attest – the stuff is light, fluffy and a blast to ski
