Winter Park Colorado Current (Snow & Ski) Conditions - Mountain Stats

Similar to that of Loveland, Winter Park ski area in Colorado is a popular ski destination for residents living in the Denver area and west of the city. A quick hour drive from Denver and your at a great ski area with plenty to choose from whether your just getting started skiing or are “skilled on the slopes” you will find something that suits your style at Winter Park. The various area’s of “The Park” are Mary Jane (this is where I spent most of my skiing hours while at Winter Park), Parsenn Bowl, Vasquez Cirque and Vasquez Ridge. I often enjoyed a run at Mary Jane called “Pine Cliffs” it had huge pine tree’s with various little cliffs that were small enough to have fun with while not breaking any major bones – most days anyway.

Winter park “claims” to have more snow than any other resort in the Colorado area, a claim that is also made by Wolf Creek. Having skied Winter park I can attest that they do get a crazy amount of snow. The Park has been open now for over 65 years, and is a great place to ski, driving across the mountain pass however can be a bit hair raising on a snow day. In the summer of 2006 Winter Park spent nearly 5 million dollars on mountain upgrades which include the introduction of new chair lift (Eagle Wind) which is located near the Parsenn Bowl. Mary Jane offers skiers and snowboarders the most vertical drop (2,610 feet) while the other areas of Winter Park offer around 1,700 vertical feet.
